Stanfield is a double-plus runner and potential impact defender who will move from left field to center field during his draft-eligible sophomore season with Auburn in 2024. He had a solid debut season in 2023 when he slashed .274/.358/.402 and stood out as one of the few hitters who found some success against 2023 first overall pick Paul Skenes—Stanfield went 2-for-4 in his one game against him with a pair of barreled up singles against 99- and 97-mph fastballs, respectively. Stanfield can be a bit passive at the plate at times, but between his bat speed, running speed and defensive ability, he has a chance to be an impactful middle-of-the field player. -

One of the better runners in the class, Stanfield has turned in double-plus run times and because of that has a chance to be a plus defender in center field. His electronic-timed 60-yard dash at East Coast Pro during the 2021 summer showcase circuit was good for second at the event, behind only Michigan outfielder Gregory Pace Jr. A 6-foot, 190-pound outfielder, Stanfield has some solid hitting qualities with impressive bat speed and solid bat-to-ball skills, though his barrel can get in and out of the zone quickly at times. He lacks strength currently and has below-average power and because of that some scouts might want him to develop and prove his offensive chops at Auburn. He has thrown 93 mph from the outfield at Perfect Game’s national showcase, but scouts think his arm is more consistently fringe-average. Stanfield is older for the class and will turn 19 just after the draft, making him a draft-eligible sophomore in 2024 if he does make it to campus.
