Crisantes was the leading hitter on a Nogales high school team that finished as the Arizona 5A runners up this spring. He has dealt with his fair share of injuries, but scouts like the 6-foot, 180-pound shortstop’s well-rounded tool set. He has impressive feel to hit (and walked 32 times compared to just three strikeouts this spring) and below-average raw power, but solid tools across the board after that. Crisantes is a shortstop now but might wind up being a better profile at second base and because of that, teams might rather see him head to campus at Arizona, where he can prove his bat against better pitching and add strength. Crisantes is young for the class and doesn’t turn 18 until September.
