School: Sunset HS, Portland, Ore. Committed: Uncommitted
Age At Draft: 18.3
Schoolcraft was one of the elite players for 2026, then in Dec. 2023 announced he was reclassifying to the 2025 class. Like Giants 2023 first-rounder Bryce Eldridge, Schoolcraft is a gigantic two-way talent with big lefthanded power whose future could be as a position player or a pitcher. On the mound, Schoolcraft has reached 93 mph and should be in the mid 90s or better by draft time. Schoolcraft’s fastball is his best pitch, but he also throws both a changeup and splitter that has late tumble to generate weak contact, along with a mid-to-upper 70s slider. As a 6-foot-8 teenage pitcher, he’s still learning to sync up his delivery to throw consistent strikes, though for a long-limbed hitter, his lefthanded swing works well and allows him to perform at a high level in games. He has huge power for his age, with a chance for 70 raw power on the 20-80 scale once he fills out. He moves around well enough to potentially play right field, though his size gives infielders extra margin for error when he’s at first base. -

On the mound, Schoolcraft touched 93 mph in 2023 and this year has been up to 96 mph with the look of a pitcher who should get into the upper-90s. His secondary stuff has taken a step forward, missing bats with a changeup that has good separation off his fastball and adding more power this year to a mid-80s slider that has good action and is tough on lefties with his angle. Schoolcraft is well coordinated for his size, though as a 6-foot-8 pitcher, he’s still learning to sync up his delivery to throw consistent strikes. At the plate, Schoolcraft is a long-limbed hitter whose lefthanded swing works well and allows him to perform at a high level in games. He has huge power for his age, with a chance for 70 raw power on the 20-80 scale once he fills out. Schoolcraft is a potential plus defender at first base, where he has good actions, quickness and range, along with his obvious arm strength, and gives his infielders extra margin for error with his size. He moves around well enough to potentially play right field as well.
